THE TSENGLAP TRIBE OF JIWAKA

A Tribal Myth

Kisap Jim Taylor Primary School

Kisap Primary is another school inside the Tsenglap Tribe. Kisap is located about one kilometer down the Kendu Junction. Kisap Primary was established by the Evangelical Brotherhood Church (EBC). The School has now been given the Primary School Status by the PNG Education Department. The Kisap School is known as Jim Taylor Primary School, named after the famous Australian Explorer Jim (Lindsay) Taylor.

Kerowil Community School was closed down some years ago, and in its place, Kisap Community School was established. The Kisap School was recently assisted by the PNG Sustainable Development with donations of Laptop Computers. This is one of the first primary schools in the Wahgi to receive Laptop Computers. The Kisap school is continuously being improved in terms of infrastructure and facilities to meet the standards of today's education system.

EBC Kisap School

Kisap Primary School is now in the process of acquiring necessary VSAT equipment for students to access the Internet using their laptops. Electricity is being connected from the main PNG Power (Ramu) grid from Kendu to Kisap.
