Clan Goupings Within Tsenglap

There are nine (9) major clans inside the Tsenglap Tribe today. These clans are are classified according to their ancestorial and migratory roots. Within Tsenglap Tribe orgainsation, there are five (5) Clan groupings. These five clan groups are: Kupuskup, Aikup, Gilgalkup, Baiman, and Tsenglap Number Two.

Gilgalkup is a clan of its own and according to traditional history he is a cousin of the Kupuskup. Baiman Clan trace their origin as far as the Chimbu and they have migrated into the Tsenglap from Chimbu. Aikup Clan is originated from their great ancestor Ai. Clans of Kumukanem, Dangekanem, Kombilikanem, Baimankanem and Kulpal form Tsenglap Kupuskup and they make up the other half of Tsenglap Tribe. Tsenglap Number Two (2) make up another clan inside the Tsenglap, and this clan is made up of emmigrants from other places.
