Jimi Electorate

Jimi is an Electorate inside New Jiwaka Province. Jimi district covers areas extending from Kol to the east, and extends westwards down to Tabibuga. Tabibuga is the district Headquarters of Jimi. The Jimi River flows from Upper Jimi down to Lower Jimi separating Middle Jimi and Lower Jimi.

Kawil, Karap, Olna, Ngamba, Makin and Tabibuga, these are places in Middle Jimi, and places such as Koriom, Kwiop, Kwima, Kompia, Koinambe and Bokapai are in Lower Jimi.

Land Of Natural Resources

Climatic conditions in Jimi is ideal for growing a wide variety of food and cash crops. Jimi valley has untouched rainforest and mineral deposits. You can travel by road from Banz to Tabibuga Station in a Four Wheel Drive. There is road linking all the way to Kol in upper Jimi.

Tabibuga is the District Headquarters, and all government officials are based there. Jimi High School is located in upper Jimi near Kol. Jimi is a rugged country, it has mountain ranges, gorges, ravines, cliffs and fast flowing rivers. The most important link to the outside world is by Road. After 2017 National Elections, local member of Parliament Wake Goi and Governor of Jiwaka Hon. William Tongamp have made committments to rehabilitate the Jimi Road.
