The Wupal Dance of Jiwaka
Wupal (Dance):The Wupal dance is performed by both men and women from a clan about a month in advance prior to receiving a gift from another clan. The gift will be mainly food stuff. If a clan from the mountain wanted to harvest panda nuts and give to a clan from the lowland, the lowland clan will perform the Wupal Dance
Wupal Dance is performed by the Receiving Clan. The Wupal Dance will end after the gift is received. The Wupal Dance is still being performed in this modern times, however from a different context. Today, the Wupal Dance is performed to welcome Members of Parliament and Top Government Officials visiting the local area.
