The Amb Garu Singsing
Amb Gharu (Singsing): The Amb Gharu ceremony takes place late in the evening on the Bride Price eve. The night prior to the bride price ceremony, both the groom and bride's relatives will gather at the bride's village and they will sing songs and take part in the Amb Gharu initiation ceremony.
The bride's relatives will give their final blessings to their daughter during this night. This event will take place inside a big house, a big fire will be lit in the middle and people will sit around the fire, singsing and rubbing oil on their skin. The oil is derived from pig's fat. This event will go on until day break. In the morning, the actual bride price ceremony will take place.
