Education is Key

Achieving universal primary education is one of the eight Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) all UN member states agreed to achieve by 2015. Education is a basic human right and all Tsenglaps are urged to send their children to school. The councillors must pull up their socks in this area. Any parent who does not send their children to school will be answerable to the councillors.
The O'Neill/Namah government has done the right thing by introducing the Free Education Policy. It is only fair that the govenment must provide Free Education and Basic Health Care. In that way the wealth of this country is shared equally among the citizens.
As can be seen for the last thirty (36) six years, the ecomonic wealth of this country is enjoyed by about 15% of the population. About 85% of the people are still poor and they need to benefit from what the country has to offer. The wealth of this country is enjoyed by foreign businesmen, the politicians, the top bureaucrats and public servants.
Law firms and disciplined forces providing special security have made fortunes, while the rest of PNG looks on. It is only right that the Free Education must continue. It will be a big relief to parents. The parents are paying a lot of tax to the state. Employed parents pay income tax, GST and VAT is imposed by shop owners and service providers. Everything that we buy is taxed so in return the government must provide vital services free of charge.
