Ghartu - The Jiwaka House Warming
Gharthu (Singsing):The Gharthu singsing is performed as a House Warming Party. When a new house has been constructed, the owner of the house will allow young girls from his clan to act as the hosts. They will invite young men from another clan, the young men will come and sing with the girls and carry legs. This event will go on until day break.
After the Gharthu sinsing has been performed, the owner of the house and his family can now move in and live in their new house. Under the discretion of the house owner this singsing and carrying legs event can go on for two or three days.
