The Law and Order Situation
Law And Order problem is a big issue in this country. There is a big attitude problem in this country, people have no respect for authorities. Our beautiful country is so blessed with so many Natural Resources and pristine environment but the people of this country have a big attitude problem.
Jiwaka is a new province and we as stake holders of this province, must all work together with all sectors of Government and Society to make Jiwaka the best province to live, work and conduct business. The younger generation are taking drugs and illegally brewing steam beer and consuming alcohol in public places. This sort of behaviour must stop if we want to progress.
The Law and Order Committee (if there is such) for the new Jiwaka province should get their acts together and come up with tougher penalties for people brewing steam beer and drunkards causing nuisance in public places. Tougher penalties should be imposed on law breakers. We should build police cells in various places around the province and lock people up if they break the laws of Jiwaka.
Lawlessness increases because the law breakers are not punished quickly and sometimes the punishment is not tough enough to make the law-breakers change their attitude. The new Jiwaka Province must devise tougher penalties for law breakers so this will discourage opportunits from causing nuisance.
For any development to take shape in the newly created province, firstly we need to tighten up the law and order situation. Once law and order issues are discussed and implemented, the other business activities will just spring up.
Security and Safety are always a concern in this country. If we can tighten up security in the Jiwaka Province, we can turn the new province into a tourist haven. In the business world, when a business wants to sell a product, first it looks at the needs of its customers. Once the needs of the customers are established, the business can then go ahead and manufacture the right products and provide the right services based on customer demand. The greatest concern people of this country have is their own Safety and Security. If Jiwaka Province can come up with a strategic plan to address Law and Order issues, we can create a heaven for local and international tourists.
There is only one industry in this country that has really benefited from the Law and Order problem and that is the Private Security Firms. Jiwaka Province can benefit from the Law and Order situation by creating an environment safe for people to move, live and work in, without having to worry about their safety. If we can create this kind of environment, we will turn our new province into a tourist haven.
Places like Jimi and Kambia are good tourist destinations. The newly created Zoo in Jimi can be improved and expanded. Guest houses can be constructed at the Zoo site so tourists can stay overnight and track the rainforests of Jimi valley. The Jiwaka people have learned a lot in the last thirty six (36) years of independance. By now Jiwaka should capitalise on the mistakes and failures of other provinces, set the right foundation to build up the province.
